Recognize and develop creative opportunities with MSU's arts entrepreneurship minor.

MSU's arts entrepreneurship minor is a 21-credit hour program designed to equip you with the survival skills you need to manage and promote your own arts-based business. You will learn how to recognize creative opportunities, develop artistic products and promote yourself through the region and beyond.

You will complete coursework in the following areas:
  • Arts administration
  • Arts entrepreneurship
  • Finance and business
  • Legal issues
  • Management
  • Marketing and communication
Professional practice is also embedded into the minor, including field experiences through a practicum tailored to meet your career interests. The minor also places a focus on skills relating to arts and social sector non-profit organizations. These skills include community organizing and advocacy, grant writing and fundraising, client and audience analysis, bookkeeping and cash flow planning and how to develop pricing models.
