Film studies minor provides experience for students interested in broadcasting and journalism careers

MSU’s minor in film studies is an interdisciplinary program designed to give you a theoretical as well as practical knowledge of film. It recognizes the importance of film literacy in the digital age and pairs well with majors in convergent media and strategic communication. Students who minor in film studies have the opportunity to transform their interest into rewarding careers in filmmaking, broadcasting, journalism or education.

You will take courses in film history and theory, screenwriting, documentary and animation production.

MSU’s Film Club provides further opportunities to expand your knowledge on the industry. Students meet and discuss films and filmmaking and participate in field trips, workshops and on-campus screenings and events.
