Animal Science prepares students for careers

The animal science program at Morehead State will prepare you for a career in agriculture. The program is an area of concentration in agricultural sciences, meaning you will receive intensive instruction in the field, and you are not required to select a minor.

As a student, you’ll learn about livestock production and management, reproduction, breeding and nutrition. You’ll gain not only knowledge, but practical skills through hands-on learning opportunities at the Derrickson Agricultural Complex, where you will work with beef cattle, swine, sheep, horses and more.

A degree in animal science will prepare you for a number of careers, including:
·      Livestock, equine or companion animal management
·      Livestock marketing
·      Research and development
·      Sales
·      Governmental agencies
